Description:
Tom is the owner of a cafe in a typical American small town. Over night, he becomes the reluctant hero after he deals with two criminals trying to rob his cafe. The attention coming from this incident is something he doesn't want, and soon ghosts from his past start to haunt him. Viggo Mortensen playes Tom in this excellent thriller and Maria Bello playes his wife.

A history of violence is a movie packed with explicit violence and sex scenes.
Viggo Mortensen does an ok job in this movie but it's not enough to really turn this movie into a great one. The story got real potential, and I bet that landing Sean Penn as the leading actor would have turned this movie into a classic.
It's well worth watching, but don't expect too much.

Good story and decent acting

I think this was a fairly good movie. The story is original, and Viggo Mortensen does a good job as always. It's got a fairly slow pace, so those after an action movie might possibly not like this one. This movie would definitely be on my list of movies one should see though.
