Arrested Development is an ensemble sitcom comedy that tells the story of the Bluth family, heads of the once prosperous Bluth Company who find their wealth in peril amid legal allegations of wrongdoing. The Bluths are all self-centered, wasteful, unintelligent aristocrats with the possible exception of Michael, the middle son who tries to keep the family from falling apart. The show is notably different than most sitcoms, in that includes several non-traditional elements such as narration during the episode.

Season one reveals the Bluth Company has been audited by the Securities Exchange Commission, resulting in George Sr., the patriarch of the Bluth family, going to prison. His wife Lucille inherits the company and turns to Michael to right the ship. Michael, his brother Gob, sister Lindsey, and their respective families move in to a Bluth Company model home to improve their relations.
