Description:
Christopher Nolan gives us the dark story of the birth of Batman. How did the Dark Knight come to be? Christian Bale playes the role of Batman better than anyone and the franchise is once again alive. Batman strikes fear into the hearts of villains. This is the first in what appears to be a new breed of Batman movies. It's a darker movie than the old ones and certainly a more serious one than the last few. The cast is very interesting with some very solid names, and the story is fresh, entertaining and certainly delivers.
Batman Begins gives us the full story of how batman becomes the caped crusader, and we get to see his first encounters with arch-villains that threathen Gotham City.

Well my resolve held throughout its run at the cinema (something I must admit I now regret) and continued to hold until I find myself sitting on a plane with nothing else to do but watch the film.
Well within minutes of it starting I could tell I had been wrong, this wasn’t just another attempt by Warner Bros. to make money from a tired franchise, this was a film in its own right, and a good film at that. Nolan’s decision to focus the film, on Batman rather than on the villain was a stroke of genius I hadn’t expected, and more than welcomed as previous films seem to have Batman almost as a secondary character.
The only real negative I found with this film and its more of a nitpick than a fault per se, is the decision to cast Katie Holmes as Rachel Dawes, a role I feel should have gone to a slightly older actress, its not that I feel Katie’s performance itself was bad, just that she looked far to young to be the Assistant D.A. she was supposed to be.
Overall this film is great and well worth watching and re-watching (I have now bought it on DVD and have watched it again several times) and hopefully with provide the catalyst for many more good Batman films.
Redemption is this movie's foundation

This movie is far more like the first one than any other. Gotham is dark, there is no fancy villains or stupid-looking batmobile, nothing that would give it any similarity to the repulsive sequels. I especially liked how you finally were given insight as to how Batman acquired all of the gadgets and weapons he uses to protect Gotham. The movie also does an excellent job of explaining why Bruce Wayne became Batman, why he chose bats as his theme, everything.
The plot itself for the villain of this movie isn't too bad either. All in all I would say this is one of the best action movies I have seen to date. I highly recommend this movie for either rent or purchase.
The best Batman movie.

What a nice surprise:
5 minutes into the movies I realized that this is the one Batman film that worth watching.
The setting, story and actors all blended perfect together giving me 2 hours of quality movie time.
Christian Bale does a great job as Batman (after starring in american psycho he has no problems playing a man with slit personality)
Katie Holmes on the other hand did not deliver, but luckily she did not have a big part in the movie.
Batman is back!

The movie sure wasn't a let down. Bale is the best Batman since Michael keaton (who I thought was great as batman) wore the leather suit. The movie is fairly grim and dark, and Batman is finally portraited as a superhero one should fear. The story is fairly good, but probably not groundbreaking. Michael Caine does good role as Batmans butler and Liam Neeson gives Batman a good challenge as villain.
I highly recommend this movie for a couple of hours of fun. One of the best movies of 2005.
