Description:
Holden McNeil, a cult-comic artist falls madly in love with Alyssa, a fellow artist. She turns out to be a lesbian, but they become friends and develope a deep friendship. Holden's best friend and comic book partner, Banky, doesn't like their relationship at all, and he lets this shine through. Holden isn't able to hold his feelings for Alyssa inside and confesses his love for her. Despite her thinking it unfair to tell her this considering she's a lesbian, they do begin a romantic relationship that night. Banky can't deal with this and starts to dig up dirt on Alyssa. The information he comes up with disturbs Holden, and he confronts her with it and it becomes clear to Holden that she is a bisexual and not a lesbian.
Holden meets up with Jay and Silent Bob some day later, and Silent Bob tells of a similar relationship he had in his younger days in an attempt to put things into perspective for Holden. Holden comes up with a plan to try and fix things between himself, Alyssan and Banky.
Chasing Amy is great movie about relationships and friendships brought to us by the excellent Kevin Smith.
