Description:

Based on the movie Highlander, this series revolves around a clansman of Connor MacLeod.  Duncan MacLeod, who was an adopted foundling of the Clan MacLeod chieftain, grew up with the legend of Connor MacLeod.  He thought that Connor was only a myth, until dying himself for the first time and discovering his hidden nature.  Connor then became his teacher, after Duncan was disowned from his clan as "demon possessed", and taught him the rules of the game.  Duncan later went on to study from many other great mortal and immortal teachers throughout history.

The first episode features a guest appearance from Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod, who visits Duncan while on a quest for vengeance.  Duncan had been trying to live a relatively normal life for the past few years, without actively participating in "the game".  Connor's visit reminds Duncan that others will find him sooner or later.

This first season introduces many of the recurring characters throughout the series, although a few important developments occur later in seasons 2 and 3, and sets up the mythology from the movie while being able to explore and develop it more fully.
