I love comic movies...well most of them (ugh Daredevil). Definately most of the good action movies of the past 10+ years have been of the comic genre. Rise of the Silver Surfer is no exception to this trend.

The movie picks up with the Fantastic Four being celebrities and the planning of the wedding of Mr. Fantastic and the Invisible Woman. Now with Jessica Alba as the IW well who can blame him (although she is sorta freaky looking with those fake blue contacts).

Anyway I digress, the movie has a few parts that I coulda done without. I don't know what it is with Hollywood and 1-liners. Sure Johnny Storm is supposed to be a cocky kid but does every 3rd line of his have to be a 1-liner. (I blame the Terminator and "I'll be back") Also I could have done without alot of the slapstick humor between the Thing and the Torch.

Now that the negative is out of the way. I LOVED THE SIVLER SURFER. He is one of my all-time favorite comic heros. I think they hit him head on. I have zero problems with the char. That was my biggest worry coming into the movie. The action sequences with him looked seemless. And twist with Dr. Doom is straight out of a FF comic.

All in all I recommend seeing the movie. You don't have to be a comic fan like me to love the comic movies. My wife hates my comic, but loves the movies.....
