Rescue Dawn tells us the story about Dieter Dengler who was a fighter pilot during the Vietnam war who got shot down. He staged an extraordinary break out from the camp in which he was held a prisoner. The movie is based off the true story about the German-American Dengler who got shot down over Laos and managed to escape together with a small band of other prisoners of war.
