Description:
After 25 years in a mental institution for killing his mother and her lover, Karl Childers is released against his own will. He is not ready for the real world and finds everything very confusing until one day when he meets a boy named Frank, it all starts coming together. I saw this movie late in the evening, and I figured I would only watch a few minutes, but I ended up seeing the whole movie (2 hours and 15 minutes)
Billy Bob Thornton perfectly plays a retard (that is what they call him in the movie)
who after spending 25 years in a mental institution have to cope in a society that he never used to fit.
After some confusion he finally meet a family he thinks of as his own.
This is a touching drama where he in the end has to make a huge sacrifice to keep the ones he love safe.
I'm not a big fan of drama, but this one with the stron acting and convincing story line deserves at least a 5
