Well, what can be said about this movie that hasn’t been said hundreds of times already.

I belive this film, is still one of the best movies ever made, before its release back in 1977, most of the sci-fi films were low-budges affairs which left much to be desired. However the release of this film heralded a change in the way of science fiction films forever.

Gone were the blocky plastic ships which were pulled along on fighting wire, with fake fire spurting out the backs and in were gloriously detailed ships which had a life and character of their own. In were laser guns shooting blasts of coloured light, and in were some of the most realistic alien creatures ever seen.

But what makes Star Wars such an exciting, fantastic adventure?
The acting? No, to be honest it isn’t that great.
The action? No, there is tons of it, but probably not.
The special effects? Could be, since they were revolutionary, but I don't think so.

No I belive that the story is what makes Star Wars so great . This is quite possibly the greatest story ever told. There's something for everyone to enjoy in the film. There's action, adventure, comedy and science fiction. It's a story of great heroes, evil villains and amazing adventure. This topped off with the amazing music by John Williams make the whole film compelling.

The whole series of films are infinitely re-watchable, and while they're definitely also old cult favorites, they are also worth watching, and highly enjoyable to pretty much anyone. I recommend any fan of science fiction, action, adventure or anyone who's just looking for a great film, to watch this. It's a masterpiece.

the first movie of the star wars saga! (it is actually part 4, but part 1,2,3 were released after 4,5,6) although the special effects and aliens are a bit old fashioned if you watch it now, this movie was way ahead of it's time. the star wars saga is definitely one of the best stories out there, and packs alot of action, adventure and humor into it. i think the starwars movies are the best sci-fi movies out there, and its definitely worth watching them all.
