Description:
Atlanta-based Sevendust returns with their seventh studio album only one year after the release of Alpha. Hope & Sorrow is another collection of down-tuned guitars, chunky riffs, and angst-filled vocals that have become a signature of the band's heavy melodic sound. Their seventh studio recording features the addition of many industrial and electronic soundscapes that fill up space between tracks and drop in at various points in the production.
For the first time since Animosity, Sevendust has collaborated with other artists on the album including Myles Kennedy and Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge, as well as Chris Daughtry of American Idol fame. Existing fans of the band will find solace in the release, but it does not tread any new ground or represent any drastic reinventions of their existing sound.
