Resident Evil 3: Nemesis is the survival horror sequel to Resident Evil 2. Although the game is a sequel, part of the game actually takes chronological place between the first two Resident Evil games, while the later portions of the occur after the events of Resident Evil 2. The player has control of Jill Valentine, one of the protagonists from the first Resident Evil game, as she tries to escape the horror that has engulfed Raccoon City.

However, this time she must face more than the usual T-virus infected zombies. The Umbrella Corporation has developed a specialized bioweapon called Nemesis who has been programmed to hunt members of the S.T.A.R.S. team, including Jill. Nemesis is virtually indestructible and stalks Jill and her companions continuously throughout the game. Left without refuge, Jill has no choice but to face Nemesis to escape the horror.
