Description:

In this third Spiderman movie, Spiderman has started to find a good balance in his life between his private life with Mary Jane, possibly becoming a staff member at the Daily Bugle and his life as a crime-fighting superhero.

When things are going good, something always has to make things bad, and this time around it's no different. The man who killed his father, Flint Marko, flees from prison, and while doing so, is in an accident which transforms him into the Sandman, Spiderman's toughest enemy so far. Spidey's old friend Harry Osborn takes up his father's legacy as The New Goblin.

As if this wasn't enough, his suit has started to be taken over by a dark matter, which has brought forward darkser sides of Peter Parker. He starts a romance with his lab partner, Gwen Stacey, but someone else is coveting her which in turn leads to yet another villain showing his face in Venom. Venom is really Eddie Brock, a rival photographer that is also been affected by the same dark matter as Spiderman, and he is also in love with Stacey. Spiderman has a lot to deal with. Can he fight his inner demons, beat the badguys and maintain his relationship with Mary Jane?

Gotta love it! 5 out of 6 stars [ ? ]

I really did enjoy this movie. It shows us the more personal side of Spiderman, and even though some of that is kind of cheesy and lame, it get's pretty interesting. There are a few subtle but funny jokes that perhaps only a teenager would understand, but maybe others will get them as well (you'll know what I'm talking about when/if you see the movie). The villains in this movie are probably my favorite so far. Although I loved Doc. Oc, the new Goblin, Sandman, and Venom are all just awesome. I was really impressed with the visuals and animation, it's all pretty convincing (as convincing as a giant man made of sand coming out of the ground in the middle of New York can be). All in all I really enjoyed the movie, well worth staying up for the premier and the seven bucks it cost to get in!

Raimi finally sells to the big ticket.

Spiderman 3 was one of the biggest disappointments to date for me in a long anticipated movie by a director that I love. It seems Sam Raimi finally felt the pressure of the blockbuster movie and caved completely to the wants of his backers. There was no classic Raimi camera angles, flare, or even goofball comedy. Infact, the first hour of the movie plays just like a slightly better written normal romantic comedy. The villians are ambigious and their motives and feelings are never really expressed to the audience, and by the time Spiderman was supposed to save the day, I was rooting so hard for a villian, any villian, to kill him, that it was abit to late for the redemption of a hero. I was extremely disappointed and do not advise.

Enough is enough... 3 out of 6 stars [ ? ]

After watching the first two Spiderman movies and found them pretty good, I expected nothing less from
this hyped up movie.

Peter Parker is very satisfied with his performance as Spiderman and is deeply in love with Mary Jane, but some
alien dark ooze is about to turn his life upside down.

Suddenly Spiderman wakes up with 2 sets of clothes, where the dark one symbolize destructive powers.
Now Spiderman have to fight dangerous villains and his bloated ego.

Spiderman III is darker and is much more moralizing than the previous versions.
The darkness adds something fascinating, but the added moral ruins the whole experience for me.
I accept some patriotism and moral preaches, the two previous version had that too, but this third one
went way to far.

That being said I enjoyed the scenes where Peter Parker juiced up by the dark forces do things he normally
wouldn't.
Tobey Maguire gives a good performance and Kirsten Dunst plays the confused and vulnerable Mary Jane well.

Obviously this movie is packed with action scenes and this time Spiderman have to fight a monster made of sand, and
also a traitorous reporter with dark Spiderman powers.

Although I think the two first movies were better, Spiderman 3 will give you some action and special effects worth watching.
