Description:
Oblivion is the fourth in a great branch of games from Bethesda where open ended gameplay is the key. You are free to develope your character in this open world and can do side-quests or whatever you like, or do the main quest. The graphics are truly amazing and the world is really alive with npc's going around their every day business.
Reviews:

I was a big fan of the early Elder Scroll games like Arena, and I was noticeably interested when this game came out. The game sucked me in right away. It's a huge world with tons of quests to do, and a very non-linear game. You can follow the main plot and finish the main portion of the game in a decent amount of time, but if you want to deal with everything else the game has to offer, you have to set aside a lot more time.
The game has a system where the monsters level up when you do, and this has the side-effect of not giving you that great feeling of accomplishment. Another negative thing one could say about the game, is that the skill progress and level system could have been improved. If you want to get the most out of each level, you have to spend a great deal of managing your skills as you use them, and it's tiresome work.
Graphically, the game is as good as it gets at the time of it's release. It's visually very appealing and got a great atmosphere. The quests range from ok to awesome and the replayability is good. Bethesda has added more content that you can purchase and download online which gives the game even more replayability. There's also an expansion pack on the way that should add tens of hours of more gameplay.
If this game had a better skill/level system, it would probably be my favorite game the last few years!

This game was recommended to me by a friend, as I am a fan of RPG games, usually things like Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate, and Diablo. I was not in the slightest unhappy with this game.
GRAPHICS: Mind blowing. The landscape, weather, people, everything looks amazing. Water has never looked so good, trees amazing, grass waving. The sheer size of the map is enough to make you think 'WOW' I've never seen anything like it in all my time.
STORY/PLAYABILITY: The story is, as you would expect for an RPG, very long and very good. Twists and plots, and just pure brilliance. You're not on a timescale or a set route, you can do the main story quests whenever you like. I don't think I even started playing through the game's story properly until after something like 60 hours of game play. There are literally hundreds of quests and after spending over 200 hours total on this game, I'm still finding more. A game that you can play again and again and it's always a new adventure. Though you do need a lot of time to play it, and it can take some getting used to.
COMBAT: A nice combat system depending on how you like it. 3rd person is an option, though 1st person is visually nicer. Not turn based but real time, which gives you the sense of urgency to really make the game come to life.
OVERALL: The best game yet, on any platform. This game is, and always will be, one of my most favourite games ever. I can't fault any aspect of it's design. And in HD, it looks even better. If you have a 360, and some time, you will need to buy this game to experience the full power of what game designers can do, with some time, effort and money. If you've got a PC that can handle it, try it for PC too, and with expansion packs such as Shivering Isles, it looks to be a game with a great deal more to offer.
