Description:
Season 4 of The Wire follows four kids, who are starting eight grade downtown, closely. At the same time, Prez has started a new career as a math teacher at the same school and he gets to see first hand the troubles these kids go through every day. He tries to do his own thing to work against the system to help the kids, instead of just doing what everyone else does, and ignore the kids education to keep control of the school in the district.
A string of events lead to the major crimes unit being reastablished with most of the old team members working together once again trying to take down Marlo Stanfield and his gang. A lot of people have been disappearing, presumed dead, but no bodies can be found, and Freaman tries his best to figure out what Marlow does with them.
Carcetti, who started to plan his run for Mayor, is in for a tough fight against Mayor Royce, trying to become the first white Mayor in a long time. Carcetti is convinced he can help make things better for the city, and clean up the streets. Another familiar character, Howard "Bunny" Colvin playes a bigger part of season 4 as he takes on a job with a research group who want to study young kids who are on their way to becoming criminals.
Dennis "Cutty" Wise is still running his boxing gym for kids, and Bubbles has taken a teenager under his wing to try and help him make a life for himself instead of selling drugs on the corner. The Wire Season 4 continues as one of the top drama shows of this decade.
Reviews:
The best season so far

Character development is, as always, top notch, and we watch as people climb ladders, get demoted and deal with every day life. McNulty has move in with Beadie, who we got to know some in season 2 as she worked the docks as a cop. McNulty has cut back on drinking and has become a family man, working as a regular street cop. Bunk is..well..Bunk. One of the coolest guys on the show. Omar is back in Baltimore ripping and running as always, and he gets into a tangle with Marlow at some point which makes for an interesting side story. It's great to see the Major Crimes unit get together towards the end once again, and season 5 can't start soon enough for me. The Wire is one of the best shows of this decades, and season 5 will hopefully be the best of them all. Season 5 is supposedly the last we'll get, sadly, but hell. Why not quit when you are on top? :D
