Drama movies have realistic characters often dealing with themes such as alchoholism, racial prejudice, crime and corruption often put the characters in confilct with the socitey or themselves. Most film genres use dramatic elements, but in drama films the are the main element.

Babel
A bus full of American tourists roll out of the Morocco, and out of the blue, a rifleshot hits one of the passengers, Susan, played by Cate Blanchett. This is the starting point for three stories that are elegantly tied together into a beautiful fabel. The theme lies in the movies title, the myth about the tower of Babel as a symbol for lack of communication and understanding. This is a very beautiful and moving story with a very time-right topic.
Before The Devil Knows You're Dead
The story about two brothers who decides to rob their parents jewelry store. It all goes very wrong, and this sets events in motion that has the family moving towards chaos. It doesn't help that the wife of the older brother is having an affair with the younger brother, or that the old pop is trying desperatly to hunt down his own sons unknown to himself. This is a classic drama where we are reminded that we often have the most to fear from those who are near and dear to us.
Black Snake Moan (2006) Review
An old black religious bluesman stumble over a wild young beaten up and abused woman and decides to save her.

His will and strength ignites the spirit of the American people who are struggling with the nations horrible economy. Russell Crowe and Renee Zellweger makes this movie a truly inspiring movie about determination, hope and willpower.

A spiritual, romantic and very deadly love story about random encounters, love at first sight and betrayal. We get to follow four people in this story, played by Natalie Portman, Clive Owen, Jude Law and Julia Roberts.
Crash (2005)
Taking place in Los Angeles in the time before September 11th, several smaller stories are tied together and prejudice and racial discrimination are the main topics. The tension is high throughout this movie which is one of the more important movies of 2005.
