Christian Bale, one of the big stars of the new Batman movie, was arrested a few days ago and was held in custody for over 4 hours at a London police station after allegations of assaulting his mother and sister sunday night. He was later released and is due to show up at the police station again in September. There have been little details on what exactly happened in the room of the Dorchester Hotel in London, but both his mother and sister filed a complaint against him at the local police station. Bale’s sister, Sharon, shouted out the window of the hotel “It’s a family matter!”, and we’ll see what news come up in a while.
Bale has been seeing massive success with his first Batman movie Batman Begins and now recently with the new blockbuster The Dark Knight which did extremely well at the box office last weekend bringing in $155.34 million which makes it the best opening weekend movie of all time.

The big news recently is that script writers have gone on strike, which may badly affect TV series that we all love. Yes, you heard me right, the Writers Guild of America is on strike. The main reason is that the writers want their share of what goes on digitally and online, as more and more media goes online. Hopefully this will be resolved soon, or many shows will have to cut down on seasons episodes or push them back. Read the rest of this entry »

Having played World of Warcraft since closed beta, and most major MMORPG since Ultima Online, I’ve seen what the MMO world has to offer, and what I feel WoW is lacking that should have been implemented by now. World of Warcraft is very focused around guilds, and I feel the tools given to guilds are severly lacking. Read the rest of this entry »

We’ve just seen the release of what could possibly the game of the year with Bioshock, but the near future has more up it’s sleeve with a number of what could be the next big thing. This summer I went to the best concert I have ever been to. John Butler Trio is amazing on CD and just as good, if not better, live. They are from Australia, so their tour in the US is somewhat limited. I am fortunate they play in Seattle, WA and Portland, OR. Seattle is about an hour away and Portland is about two. I used to live closer to Portland, so i chose to go there and see them because I knew the area better. Read the rest of this entry »

In the past several years, Hollywood has produced many movies that are remakes of older films. Even the movies that are not remakes are not original works. I challenge you to come up with 3 good movies in the last 5 years that were not remakes, or based on books or short stories. It is really hard. One pronounced example of this is the latest Bond movie: Casino Royale. Read the rest of this entry »

I’m really puzzled. The last few years, we’ve seen a number of critically acclaimed TV series been cancelled by the networks. Deadwood, Firefly, The Black Donnoleys, Rules of Engagement, Dead Like Me and Drive are examples of this. Now I’m reading that The Wire is only getting one more season, and Battlestar Galactica will end with season four in 2008. What’s up with that? Read the rest of this entry »
